Arts center featuring musical ‘Let’s Dance’
A dancin’ man from the streets of New York discovers the girl of his dreams in M&M American Dance Theatre’s romantic musical comedy “Let’s Dance,” which will be performed at 3 p.m. Sunday at the Charleston Heights Arts Center, 800 S. Brush St.
Starring Michael Kessler and Melinda Jackson, the show features the music of Gershwin, Porter, Berlin, Warren and Mercer.
“Let’s Dance” was created by Kessler and Jackson, who have produced, directed, written, choreographed and performed internationally.

“Let’s Dance” is the first theater production of Charleston Heights Arts Center’s 2007-08 season. It will be followed on Sept. 30 by Barbara C. Willingham’s “Songs of Broadway,” a song-and-dance celebration of Broadway musicals.
Desert Chorale to perform fundraiser
The Desert Chorale, a 60-voice, nonprofit community chorus, under the direction of Nancy Helm, will present special fundraising performances at 6:30 and 8 p.m. Monday at Doc Rando Hall on the University of Nevada, Las Vegas campus, 4505 S. Maryland Parkway.
Proceeds from the concert will cover some of the cost of producing and providing their free concerts each year.
Mormon Tabernacle organist Richard Elliott will perform at the Beckerath organ, and there will be choral selections by the Desert Chorale.
The performance also will include tenor Jordan Bluth, from Gilbert, Ariz., who recently received his degree in vocal performance from Indiana University.
Ticket prices are $30 for general admission, $25 for seniors (age 60 and over), and $20 for students. Tickets will not be available at the door.
