Celine hosts family, friends at private bash

Celine Dion dipped into the Las Vegas nightlife scene when she became an investor in Pure nightclub at Caesars Palace.
So what better way to close an amazing run of her show, “A New Day,” than by having a private bash there Saturday to celebrate.
Dion hosted the cast, crew and invited friends and family members to the party at Pure, where she picked up the entire bill for the going-away event.
Andre Agassi and Steffi Graf were on hand for the party, as well as illusionist Criss Angel and Danny Gans.
The event also marked the first time Pure was closed to the general public on a Saturday in its two years.
Jet welcomes Deep Dish Sharam — Saturday night probably will be a busy one for Jet as it features a special performance from Sharam of the house music duo Deep Dish.
The Iranian-American DJ, hailing from Washington, D.C., headlines the evening’s festivities. Farsheed will provide the sounds for the opening set at The Mirage venue.
Tao receives major accolade — Owners Rich Wolf, Mark Packer, Jason Strauss and Noah Tepperberg had one more thing to be excited about last week following another successful year in Las Vegas.
The men behind Tao Las Vegas got word Tao nightclub was named one of the top 10 hottest nightclubs in the country by Forbes Traveler magazine.
Tao was the only Las Vegas nightclub to make the list.
New Year’s Eve parties galore coming to city — Next week, we will take a look at some of the top places to ring in 2008 as the New Year’s Eve bashes grab the spotlight.
Sightings of the weekend — Actor Alfonso Ribeiro, best known as Carlton Banks on “The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air,” was spotted Dec. 14 at Diablo’s Cantina at the Monte Carlo. Ribeiro was seen drinking a 44-ounce “Sancho” margarita as he shook hands and posed for photos with fans.
Rapper Remy Ma and BET VJ Mad Linx checked out Poetry nightclub Dec. 14 inside the Forum Shops at Caesars.
Boxing champion Floyd Mayweather Jr. made a 1 a.m. grand entrance at Tryst nightclub Saturday inside Wynn Las Vegas. Upon his entrance, Mayweather was greeted with sparklers as the song “The Champ is Here” played in the venue.

Empire Ballroom — The popular after-hours spot welcomes international house music star Bob Sinclar, who recorded the hit “World Hold On,” for a special set on the turntables.
MONDAY
Head Candy — The weekly “Rock Candy” party hits the city as nightlife industry members visit the Planet Hollywood Resort venue.
