FISHING REPORT
* LAKE MEAD — The Vegas Bay arm is producing stripers for anglers using cut bait or jigging baits. One angler reported he has found a consistent bite on cut bait near Kingman Wash. Action at Hemenway and the beaches has been slow, but stripers are being caught along the tires.
* LAKE MOHAVE — Fishing at Cottonwood Cove has been fair to good. Anglers have been bringing in stringers full of stripers and catfish. One group reeled in nearly two dozen stripers by drift fishing with prepared bait outside Arizona Cove. At Willow Beach, shore anglers have found success for rainbow trout by casting PowerBait or night crawlers. Early mornings following the trout plant have been the most productive.
* LAS VEGAS URBAN PONDS — NDOW confirmed a recent die-off of stocked catfish was related to transportation issues and not water quality. Fish and plants will be stocked in mid-September. Bluegill, bass and carp provide good fishing opportunities.
* EAGLE VALLEY RESERVOIR — PowerBait is catching fish, but the fishing is slow because of low water and warm water. Fish are being caught in the early morning and evening.
* ECHO CANYON RESERVOIR — Low water, high temperatures and weed growth have slowed fishing.
* KIRCH WILDLIFE MANAGEMENT AREA — Bass anglers are catching fish, though weed growth can create problems. Trout are taking baits cast to open water.
