NLV Chamber slates economic outlook
August 16, 2007 - 9:00 pm
North Las Vegas’ growing commercial, residential communities will feature prominently at the North Las Vegas Chamber of Commerce’s upcoming Directions 2007: Economic Outlook of North Las Vegas.
The chamber’s premier business event, in its fifth year, will take place at Texas Station on Aug. 23.
Applied Analysis principal Jeremy Aguero will join the city’s economic development director, Mike Majewski, and Home Builders Research President Dennis Smith to discuss topics crucial to the North Las Vegas business community. Each will give a short presentation on what’s over the city’s horizon and how the community stacks up against other parts of Southern Nevada.
Chamber President Sharon Powers says Directions ranks as one of the city’s most informative events, attracting more than 300 people each year, as well as a number of exhibitors.
“It goes a little deeper than merely the state of the city,” she said. “Downtown redevelopment is huge right now.”
Exhibits can be seen starting at 10:30 a.m., followed by lunch at noon before another round of exhibits.
Chamber members pay $32 before Monday. After that, tickets go up to $38 and $43 day of event for members. Nonmembers pay $38 before Monday, $45 afterward and $50 on the day of the event.
Directions is sponsored by the North Las Vegas Chamber and the Las Vegas Business Press. Call Vanessa Vazquez at 642-9595 for more information about the event.
