Youth theater putting on ‘Wizard of Oz’

What truly lies over that proverbial rainbow?

It’s a place where imaginations run wild, where everyone feels like a kid, even if they have children of their own.

And so who better to put on a production of “Wizard of Oz” than the Rainbow Company Youth Theatre?

Now in its 31st year, the Rainbow Company has long been giving young people the opportunity to get started in theater, both onstage and off, from acting to technical support.

Performances are scheduled for 7 p.m. today, Saturday and Thursday and 2 p.m. Sunday with additional performances through Dec. 16 at the Charleston Heights Arts Center, 800 S. Brush St.

Tickets are $7 for adults, $5 for seniors and teens and $3 for children under the age of 12.
