Flower arranging workshops planned

The holiday spirit will infuse the Ikenobo Ikebana Society Nevada Chapter when it hosts Japanese flower arranging workshops Saturday.

The morning session will be a Christmas freestyle, while the afternoon session will focus on Christmas sanshuike shoka. Fresh flowers will be used for both workshops.

The sessions are scheduled from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Whitney Library, 5175 E. Tropicana Ave.

Artist to show works, discuss culture Friday

CPI Gallery, which is located within the Las Vegas Design Center at the World Market Center, will host a special exhibition and lecture with artist Paul Maxwell Friday.

The exhibition of paintings and wall sculptures is scheduled from 2 to 5 p.m. and the lecture will begin at 3 p.m. Maxwell will address “When Cultures Meet.”

The festivities coincide with the monthly First Fridays activities for interior designers and industry professionals at the Las Vegas Design Center.

CPI Gallery is located in suite B116 in Building B at the design center, 495 S. Grand Central Parkway.
