51s’ Lindsey, Young double trouble for Bees

John Lindsey drove in four runs with two doubles Sunday afternoon to help lead the 51s to a 7-3 win over the Salt Lake Bees in a Pacific Coast League game in Salt Lake City.

Lindsey’s three-run double highlighted Las Vegas’ four-run fifth inning.

Delwyn Young’s RBI double in the first inning for the 51s (66-77) was his 53rd of the season, one shy of the PCL modern-era single-season record.

Tony Abreu went 3-for-5, Wilson Valdez 2-for-3 and Luis Maza 2-for-4 for Las Vegas.

Brian Akin, the 51s’ starting pitcher, allowed one run on four hits in four-plus innings. William Juarez (6-6) relieved with two runners on base and no outs in the fifth and got the win after giving up one run on two hits in two innings.

Nick Gorneault went 3-for-4 with his 19th home run of the season for the Bees (74-68).

The 51s conclude their season with a game at 1:05 p.m. today in Salt Lake City.
