There’s nothing like the real thing, but for Sarah Ham, who’s looking for freeze-dried strawberries, readers offer several sources for what Kathryn McCulloch called “great add-ins to hot and cold cereal, baking and snacking.”
McCulloch e-mailed that she found them at Costco; Cathy Kelly and Betty English suggested the cereal aisle of Fresh & Easy, which now has eight stores in the valley; and Karen Bristow and Malinda Kolias suggested the nut section of Whole Foods Market, which now includes the former locations of Wild Oats Community Market. …
For Jimmie Gantt, who’s looking for Quisp cereal, Heidi Janesin e-mailed that it’s “one of those cult foods” that must be ordered from the manufacturer; Ron Williams and Robert A. Lindley said the only choice is to go to the Web site www.quisp.com (or call 815-372-4485). …
