Lady Rebels end six-game losing streak

Sequoia Holmes scored 14 points in the final seven minutes, leading the UNLV women’s basketball team to a 76-68 victory over Colorado State on Saturday in Fort Collins, Colo.
Holmes finished with 22 points as the Lady Rebels (7-15, 3-6 Mountain West Conference) snapped a six-game losing streak in beating the Rams (2-20, 0-9).
The Rebels were down eight late in the first half before going on a 21-6 run to take a 43-36 lead early in the second half.
Colorado State came back to grab a 54-52 lead before Holmes took over, scoring the next six points to give UNLV a lead it wouldn’t relinquish.
Holmes also had nine rebounds and two steals. Brittany Halberg had 13 points and Dominique Harris 10 points and four assists for UNLV.
Sara Hunter led the Rams with 23 points.
