The Nevada Cancer Institute has earned accreditation from The Joint Commission, the nation’s largest nonprofit accrediting body in health care. After a three-day inspection of the facility this summer, the Cancer Institute earned the commission’s Gold Seal of Approval.
The accreditation moves the state’s flagship cancer research institute one step closer to becoming a National Cancer Institute, said Cheryl Martin, chief operating officer for oncology services.
