Safety signs with Rebels

UNLV signed its third midyear football player, with safety Alex DeGiacomo (6 feet 1 inch, 190 pounds) of El Camino College in Torrance, Calif., officially joining the Rebels.

DeGiacomo led El Camino with 57 tackles last season. He also visited Kansas State.

“We had a pressing need in the secondary, especially at the safety spot, so we are excited to get Alex DeGiacomo,” UNLV coach Mike Sanford said in a statement. “He is an excellent player from a very good program. He will come in midyear and hopefully make a big impact on our program.”
