Custom Energy Systems, a distributor of fireplaces, windows, entry doors and gate entry systems, is one of Nevada Energy Star Partner’s newest members and a platinum sponsor of the 2009 Nevada Energy Star campaign. The company, which offers a variety of products for the home, encourages customers to take advantage of existing tax incentive programs when they improve the energy efficiency of their homes. The company also consults with homeowners to identify areas where they can improve energy efficiency using a variety of products designed to promote energy conservation. According to Christian LeCates, president of Custom Energy Systems, three companies recently merged to create a one-stop shop environment for homeowners seeking green and environmentally friendly products: Custom Hearth & Door; Custom Access Systems and Clearview Windows.
“Our goal is to help homeowners live comfortably while enjoying lower utility bills and increased energy savings,” LeCates said. “Green living is no longer just an aspirational way of life. More and more homeowners and consumers are demanding products that help them to reduce their carbon footprint, preserve natural resources and live a more environmentally responsible lifestyle. Green living, we say, starts at home.”
Custom Energy Systems product offerings include fireplaces, fire pits, barbecues, garage doors, windows and a variety of access systems and entry gates.

Energy Star, the national U.S. government symbol for energy efficiency, was created by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency originally for energy-conserving computers in 1992 and is now jointly implemented with the U.S. Department of Energy. Since its origin, the program has been expanded to include more than 40 product categories that conserve energy and protect the environment — from appliances, electronics, lighting, windows and office products to homes and even mortgages.
Now in its ninth year, Nevada Energy Star includes partners representing utility companies, builders and developers, and manufacturers of energy-saving products. The partnership was recently recognized in April 2009, by the EPA at a ceremony in Washington, D.C. with its most distinguished award, Sustained Excellence.
