51s to wear commemorative caps for July 4 game at Cashman Field
June 30, 2016 - 9:05 am
When the Las Vegas 51s take the field on the Fourth of July, their headwear will have a certain patriotic flair.
For the seventh consecutive year, Minor League Baseball will wear commemorative “Stars and Stripes” caps from New Era. The 51s play the Salt Lake Bees at Cashman Field on July 4 with first pitch scheduled for 7:05 p.m.
The 51s and 127 other teams will wear the specialty caps as part of a fund-raising initiative for Welcome Back Veterans, which aids military families.
Minor League Baseball will donate 100 percent of the proceeds from sales of the caps to Welcome Back Veterans.
The caps will be available for purchase in the 51s team shop and online at the team’s website.
