EVENTS

Temple Sinai, 9001 Hillpointe Road, will have a Pesach (Passover) Seder with services on Monday. Doors open at 5:30 p.m. Rabbi Malcolm Cohen and Cantor Marla Goldberg will lead services at 6 p.m. Dinner will follow at 7 p.m. There also will be an afikomen hunt with prizes for children. The fees for congregants are $55 for adults and $25 for ages 6-12. For noncongregants, the fees are $75 for adults and $45 for ages 6-12. Children younger than 5 are admitted free. “He’s Alive” the Passion Play will be presented at 7 p.m. Monday through April 2 and 2 p.m. April 3 at East Vegas Christian Center, 6450 Stewart Ave. Admission is free (450-5511).

The Sonrise Singers of Sunrise Baptist Church, 1780 Betty Lane, will present the Easter musical “God With Us” at 7 p.m. Friday, 6 p.m. April 3 and 10:45 a.m. April 4. The program is free (452-8599).

The Church at South Las Vegas, 3051 W. Horizon Ridge Parkway, Henderson, will have Easter egg hunts following the 2 p.m. Spanish service and 4 p.m. special Easter service April 3, and following the 11:45 a.m. and 5 p.m. services April 4. The egg hunts will feature candy-filled eggs, prize giveaways and other activities (361-1579).

First Henderson United Methodist Church, 609 E. Horizon Drive, will have an Easter egg hunt for children up to age 11 at 11 a.m. April 3 in the church courtyard (565-6409).

Good Samaritan Lutheran Church, 8425 E. Windmill Lane, is having a shoe drive to benefit the nonprofit organization Soles4Souls Inc. The church is collecting “gently worn” footwear throughout March for the organization, which distributes shoes to people in need (873-3589).

Grace in the Desert Episcopal Church, 2004 Spring Gate Lane, will have a fundraiser for Haitian relief and recovery, “Magical Music for Haiti,” at 4 p.m. April 11. Donations of $10 will be sought (775-253-5579).

SERVICES

First Henderson United Methodist Church, 609 E. Horizon Drive, will have Palm Sunday services at 8 and 11 a.m. Sunday. Holy Week services will include a Maundy Thursday service at 7 p.m. and a Good Friday service at 7 p.m. Easter services will begin with a sunrise service at 6:30 a.m. April 4, followed by a continental breakfast at 7:30 a.m. and additional services at 8 and 11 a.m. (565-6409).

Reformation Lutheran Church, 580 E. St. Louis Ave., will have a processional with palms at 9:30 a.m. Sunday, followed by Holy Week services including a “Seder” potluck at 6 p.m. Maundy Thursday and a Good Friday service including stripping of the altar at 6 p.m. (732-2052).

Christ Episcopal Church, 2000 S. Maryland Parkway, will have a Maundy Thursday service at 7 p.m. with the washing of feet. Good Friday services will be at 7 a.m. and noon with the stripping of the altar. The first Easter service will be at 8 p.m. April 3 with the lighting of the church, followed by baptism. Easter Day services will be at 8 and 10:30 a.m. (735-7655).

Central Christian Church will offer Easter services at all three of its locations. Services at the Henderson campus, 1001 New Beginnings Drive, will be at 3, 4:30 and 6 p.m. April 3; 9, 10:20 and 11:45 a.m. and 1:15 p.m. April 4, and 6:30 p.m. April 7, with a Spanish service offered at 6 p.m. April 4. The Summerlin location at Faith Lutheran Junior-Senior High School, 2015 S. Hualapai Way, will have services at 9, 10:20 and 11:45 a.m. and 1:15 p.m. April 4. The Southwest location at Desert Oasis High School, 6600 W. Erie Ave., will have services at 9, 10:20 and 11:45 a.m. April 4. Victory Missionary Baptist Church will have Easter services with the Rev. Robert E. Fowler Sr. and the church’s Music Ministry, with special guest performers, at 8 and 11 a.m. April 4 at Cashman Theatre, 850 Las Vegas Blvd. North (648-2630).

MEETINGS

The Sathya Sai Baba Devotional Singing Group meets at 5 p.m. Sundays at 1128 Triumph Court (461-8655).

The Secular Franciscans of St. Margaret of Cortona fraternity meets at 12:30 p.m. the fourth Sunday of the month at Pace E Bene offices, 1420 W. Bartlett Ave. (453-2417).

First Church of Christ, Scientist, will present the community talk “Cutting Through the Glare: Looking into Spiritual Realism” with Kevin Graunke, a member of the Christian Science Board of Lectureship, at 3 p.m. today at the Clark County Library, 1401 E. Flamingo Road.
