MUSIC

The Land of Lakes Choirboys of Minnesota will perform at 7:30 p.m. June 26 at Green Valley Presbyterian Church, 1798 Wigwam Parkway, Henderson. A freewill offering will be taken. The choir also will perform at the 9 a.m. service on June 27 (454-8484).

EVENTS

The Nevada chapter of the Union of Black Episcopalians will present the inaugural Odessa M. Merrill Memorial Scholarship Recital and Luncheon at noon today at Christ Church Episcopal, 2000 S. Maryland Parkway. The event will feature Claudia Merrill performing arias and spiritual music, and keynote speaker Leary B. Adams Jr. Tickets are $25 (914-9475).

On Sunday, Green Valley Presbyterian Church will have a dedication of its new Christian Education building at 11:30 a.m. at 1798 Wigwam Parkway, Henderson. The community is invited to attend (454-8484).

The Relics of St. Padre Pio of Pietrelcina will be at several Roman Catholic parishes throughout the valley through June 26. Today, Bishop Joseph A. Pepe will celebrate Mass at 7:30 p.m. at Shrine of the Most Holy Redeemer, 55 E. Reno Ave. (891-8600). The Mass will be preceded by the Sacrament of Reconciliation at 6 p.m., with rosary and prayer at 6:30 p.m., and a film on St. Pio at 7 p.m. (891-8600). The Men’s Ministry of Victory Black Mountain Church, 700 S. Boulder Highway, Henderson, will host a Men’s Day Conference with the Rev. Robert E. Fowler today and Sunday. The theme of the conference will be “When Men are Men.” The guest speaker will be the Rev. Jack Crane from True Vine Baptist Church in Fort Worth, Texas. Registration will begin at 8 a.m. today with the conference starting at 9 a.m. A Life Development class will be at 10:30 a.m. Sunday, followed by services at 11:15 a.m. and 3 p.m. (564-2840).
