PBR hosts charity Last Media Standing celebrity bull riding competition

To gear up for the Las Vegas Helldorado Days and the Professional Bull Rider’s Last Cowboy Standing event, PBR is hosting its annual charity bull riding competition Thursday night on Fremont Street — the Last Media Standing.
In its fourth year, Last Media Standing puts prominent Las Vegas media personalities in a head-to-head battle with celebrities to see who can hang on the longest during a wild bull ride — well, a mechanical bull, that is.
Although the competitors aren’t riding a live bull, the fierce winner-take-all competition will send the toughest rider home with prizes similar to those received by actual professional bull riders — a check and a belt buckle.
In addition to receiving an engraved PBR Last Media Standing belt buckle, the winner will walk away with a $2,000 donation to the charity of their choosing, organizers said in a news release.
Among other notable figures, participating in this year’s mechanical bull riding competition are JD Scott of HGTV’s “Property Brothers,” Harlem Globetrotter Warren Rosegreen, and Ryan Evans and Horny Mike of History Channel’s “Counting Cars.”
Last Media Standing competition takes place on the Third Street Stage at the Fremont Street Experience at 6 p.m. Thursday.
The annual Las Vegas Helldorado Days begins Friday.
Presented by the Las Vegas Elks, Las Vegas Centennial and PBR, the three-day festival will celebrate the city of Las Vegas’ 111th birthday with PBR’s Last Cowboy Standing events, carnival rides, games, live entertainment and the Helldorado Parade. Hellorado events will run Friday through Sunday at Las Vegas Village, 3901 Las Vegas Blvd. South.
