Woman dies in early morning accident

A 39-year-old woman died early Sunday morning after the car she was driving rolled over and struck a fence in the south valley, Las Vegas police said.

Authorities did not identity the woman, who was from Las Vegas.

Police said the single-vehicle crash occurred about 2:20 a.m. near Bermuda Road and Cactus Avenue.

Police said the woman was driving a 2006 Mini Cooper that was traveling north on Bermuda when it veered west and entered the southbound travel lane. The car then entered a desert area, rolled over and struck a fence, police said.

The driver was taken to University Medical Center, where she was pronounced dead. The crash remains under investigation and is the 68th traffic fatality under the jurisdiction of Las Vegas police.
