Man killed Thursday night in single-car crash

A 39-year-old man was killed Thursday night after crashing his car into a light pole in Las Vegas.

The accident happened at 11:22 p.m. on Torrey Pines Drive, north of Smoke Ranch Road, Las Vegas police said.

A 2000 Mazda Miata was traveling north on Torrey Pines when the driver lost control, crashing into the pole, then into a block wall, police said. The driver died at the scene. There were no other injuries.

The Clark County coroner’s office will identify the man.
