Pedestrian struck, killed on U.S. Highway 95 in valley

A man who was walking on U.S. Highway 95 was struck by a vehicle and died Thursday night, the Nevada Highway Patrol said Saturday.

Trooper Chelita Rojas said the collision occurred about 9:48 p.m. at U.S. 95 southbound, south of Boulder Highway. Rojas said a driver in a Toyota Sedan struck a man who was walking on the highway. It was unknown whether he was on the shoulder or in traffic lanes, Rojas said.

The deceased man’s identification was not released by authorities. Rojas said the driver of the Toyota was not arrested in connection with the incident. The collision remains under investigation.
