Bally wins contracts for two Canadian lotteries

Bally Technologies has been awarded contracts for equipment covering two Canadian province lotteries, which analysts believe will be worth about $100 million annually to the Las Vegas-based slot machine provider.
 
Bally announced the award Sunday during meeting with analysts prior to this week’s Global Gaming Expo in Las Vegas.
 
The Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation and the British Columbia Lottery Corporation selected Bally to replace their current gaming management systems after a nearly year long process.
 
Bally will provide the systems to monitor all slot machines at multiple sites within each province, including slot accounting, player marketing, business intelligence, and media-management products.
 
Wall Street analysts were quick to praise the deals because Canada’s province-run lotteries provided the best sales opportunities for slot machine makers, offering the chance to replace some 20,000 to 25,000 slot machines and management systems.
 
“The combined contract was the largest of the Canadian system contract(s) out for bid and should have a very positive impact on Bally shares,” Roth Capital Partners gaming Todd Eilers told investors.
