Suspect named in Henderson stabbings

Henderson police were searching for a man suspected of killing one man and wounding another in a stabbing last week.

Detectives think a dispute led Francisco Mata, 34, to attack Pedro Ortega-Vivanco and Hector Ortega-Gonzalez on Nov. 24 near Lindell Road and state Route 160.

Ortega-Gonzalez, 37, drove his van with a mortally wounded Ortega-Vivanco, 30, to a Chevron station on St. Rose Parkway near Eastern Avenue. A clerk called police after seeing a bloody Ortega-Gonzalez stumble by.

Ortega-Vivanco was dead inside the van.

Ortega-Gonzalez was taken to St. Rose Dominican Hospital, Siena Campus. His condition was not available.

Mata is Hispanic, 5 feet 7 inches tall and about 180 pounds. He has a ponytail. He works in construction and also uses the names Frank or Francisco Badillo.

Anyone with information can call Henderson police at 267-4750 .
