Driver in double-fatal accident identified

The driver in a single-vehicle crash that killed two people Tuesday was identified Thursday by the coroner’s office as Gene Rochon Nave, 48.

Las Vegas police said the accident happened about 11 p.m. on Oakey Boulevard near Fremont Street when a 1990 Chrysler Fifth Avenue driven by Nave left the street and hit a pole.

Nave, of North Las Vegas, and his passenger, an as yet unidentified female, were pronounced dead at the scene.
