Police seek help in $500,000 jewelry theft

A man walked into a jewelry store in the northwest valley Saturday evening and left the business with $500,000 in “large diamonds,” Las Vegas police said Tuesday.

Police released a photo of the suspect in hopes of identifying him.

The theft occurred shortly before 5:30 p.m. at a store on the 8500 block of West Lake Mead Boulevard, near Rampart Boulevard, police said.

The man is described as white, 6 feet tall, in his mid-20s, with a medium build, brown hair and brown eyes. Police reports do not indicate whether he showed a weapon.
