Man charged in October beating death in Henderson

Henderson police have arrested a man in connection with an October beating death.

Yuri Marcus, 26, was booked at Clark County Detention Center on Monday. Marcus is accused in the slaying of Paul Martinez, 28.

According to an arrest report, Marcus told police he struck Martinez after Martinez attacked him with a knife on Oct. 17. Martinez’s body was found in an apartment at 11000 S. Eastern Ave., near St. Rose Parkway in the southeast valley.

The Clark County coroner’s office ruled Martinez died from blunt force trauma to the head, neck and chest and acute methamphetamine toxicity.

Joseph Grebanier, 33, also was arrested as an accessory to murder for not calling police immediately after finding Martinez’s body, as well as taking items from Martinez’s person, according to the report.
