Coroner identifies motorcyclist who died in Saturday accident

A motorcyclist who died Saturday while trying to avoid hitting a car was identified by the Clark County coroner’s office Monday.

John Roske, 23, of Henderson was riding a 2002 Honda CBR 600 west on Warm Springs Road near the Spencer Street intersection about 7:15 p.m. when he collided with a 2006 Lexus GS300, Las Vegas police said. The Lexus was driven by Penny Casey, 50, who made a U-turn at the intersection of Spencer. Roske was pronounced dead at the scene.

Casey and her passenger, 26-year-old Melissa Schaefer, suffered minor injuries.
