Downtown’s Plaza plans to reopen closed sections Sept. 1

The Plaza will reopen Sept. 1 following renovations, owners of the now-closed downtown hotel said Wednesday.

The property at the intersection of Main Street and the Fremont Street Experience will have remodeled hotel rooms, a remodeled casino floor and lobby, and new restaurants and entertainment options.

“It has taken a lot of work over many months, but I’m confident that past guests will enjoy and appreciate the changes while new guests will view the updated Plaza as an exciting, new destination with more amenities and attractions than it ever had in its 40-year history,” said Tony Santo, president of Play LV which operates the Plaza, the Las Vegas Club and the Western.

Much of the Plaza’s new interior, including fixtures, furniture, carpet and wall coverings, were purchased from the Fontainebleau project on the Strip after it suspended construction.
