Henderson man identified in North Las Vegas slaying

The Clark County coroner’s office has identified the 18-year-old Henderson man who was shot and killed Monday night in North Las Vegas.

North Las Vegas police said patrol officers found a man on the ground next to a vehicle at 9:40 p.m. at an apartment complex at 3301 Civic Center Drive, near Cheyenne Avenue and Interstate 15.

The victim, Cornelius Young, was unresponsive and had been shot multiple times. He was pronounced dead at University Medical Center.

Police said Young was sitting in his vehicle when a suspect approached, fired multiple shots and fled. Young then fell out of the vehicle and collapsed.

There have been no arrests.
