MUSIC

A performance of Johann Sebastian Bach’s "St. Matthew Passion" will be presented by the Southern Nevada Musical Arts Society at 3 p.m. Sunday at Artemus Ham Hall at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, 4505 S. Green Valley Presbyterian Church, 1798 Wigwam Parkway, Henderson, will present a concert by the UNLV Choral Ensembles at 4 p.m. April 17. Admission is free. A goodwill offering will be accepted (454-8484).

South Hills Church Community, 9220 Manhattan Road, Henderson, will have its annual student ministries garage sale 7 a.m.-1 p.m. today (616-6700).

Temple Sinai, 9001 Hillpointe Road, will have a family Seder and service for the first night of Passover on April 18. Doors open at 5:30 p.m. The service led by Rabbi Malcolm Cohen will be at 6 p.m. and the catered dinner will begin at 7 p.m. Adult fees are $55 for members and $75 for nonmembers. Children fees for ages 6-12 are $25 for members and $45 for nonmembers. Children younger than 5 are admitted free. The deadline for reservations is Monday. Reformation Lutheran Church, 580 E. St. Louis Ave., continues its "The Heart of Christ" series with "Life" at noon Wednesday. A soup lunch will follow (732-2052).

The Rev. Joseph Duggan, doctor of postcolonial ecclesiology at the University of Manchester in the United Kingdom, will be the guest speaker for a program Friday and April 16 at The Episcopal Church of the Epiphany, 9041 S. Pecos Road, Henderson. "The Many Roads that Lead to the Episcopal Church: Faith Histories, Questions and Commitments After Rome" will begin 6:30-9 p.m. Friday, when Duggan describes his 16-year journey from Jesuit to Episcopal priest. On April 16, the Episcopal and Catholic churches will be compared and contrasted 9 a.m.-2 p.m. Lunch will be served, and reservations are requested. Donations will be accepted to cover costs. Valley Outreach Synagogue — P’nai Tikvah will host its Potluck Passover Seder at 6 p.m. April 19 at the Community Function Room of the Three Square Food Bank, 4220 N. Pecos Road. South Hills Church Community, 9220 Manhattan Road, Henderson, will have an Easter Eggstravanza featuring an egg hunt, egg dyeing, games, jump houses, the Resurrection Story and more, 6-8 p.m. April 20. For the egg hunt, participants are asked to bring at least 24 candy-filled eggs per child, and to bring their own hard-boiled eggs for the egg dyeing (616-6700).

SERVICES

The Church at South Las Vegas will have an Easter service with Pastor Benny Perez at 10:30 a.m. April 24 at the Thomas & Mack Center located at Tropicana Avenue and Swenson Street. The church and Three Square will have a canned food drive. Each person who donates 10 cans of food will be entered into drawings for prizes. Doors open at 9:30 a.m. Children will receive a free gift bag of Easter eggs, candy and activity book (361-1579).

MEETINGS

The Sathya Sai Baba Devotional Singing Group meets at 5 p.m. Sundays at 1128 Triumph Court (461-8655).
