Man slain while trying to stop robbery in Reno
RENO — Reno police are investigating the slaying of a man who was shot during a robbery attempt.
Police said the man was shot early Sunday morning while walking with another man and a woman.
Police said four Hispanic males tried to grab the woman’s purse.
The two men accompanying the woman tried to stop the robbery, and during the ensuing fight the victim was shot, according to police.
The man was found by police unresponsive on the sidewalk. He died later at a nearby hospital.
The man’s name has not been released pending notification of relatives.
Police said the four men involved in the attempted robbery and slaying are suspects in other violent crimes Saturday night around Reno .
