We understand the beer, energy drink, and beef jerky sponsorship deals with the World Series of Poker.
But slippers?
Poker tournament officials announced this week Dearfoams Slippers has become the “official footwear sponsor of the World Series of Poker.”
As part of the two-year sponsorship, Dearfoams will provide complimentary slippers to all participants in the tournament’s Main Event and select individual events. The company also is extending the offer to dealers and ESPN’s camera crews working the tournament.
World Series of Poker Vice President Ty Stewart said 2010 world poker champion Jonathan Duhamel won nearly $9 million last year while wearing flip-flops.
“Let’s face it, flip-flops aren’t so comfortable,” Stewart said. “Players can now feel truly comfy as they pursue their dreams.”
The World Series of Poker kicks of its 42nd year on May 31 at the Rio.
