Secret Service veteran to direct facilities’ security

A veteran former head of the local Secret Service office will be the new security administrator at state and local court facilities including the Regional Justice Center.

Court officials announced that Douglas Coombs will start Tuesday .

Clark County courts are the busiest in Nevada, with more than 5,000 visitors daily to the Nevada Supreme Court and Clark County District, Las Vegas Justice and Clark County Family courts, offices, the Phoenix building, Flamingo campus and other facilities.

Coombs served more than 23 years with the Secret Service and headed security for Nevada presidential visits.
