4 Cactus Flyer – Lots of close but no cigar finishes; she clearly is fast enough to win this turf sprint.
8 Thisoneforyou – Been away a full year, but this is a Mike Mitchell; no barn is hotter now at Del Mar.
Long Shot – 5 Magic School
Race 2 – 1 mile, $100,000 Torrey Pines, Fillies, 3-year-olds
6 Great Hot – Chased a very good Mizdirection in last; she has every right to improve in this spot.
5 Sugarinthemorning – Logical chalk has won 3-of-4 recent starts; bred to go long, first try around 2-turns.
Long Shot – 3 Love Theway Youare
Race 3 – 1 mile, Purse $63,000, Maiden special weights, Fillies, 2-year-olds
7 Candy and Thunder – Second best last two starts; big rider switch to Garrett Gomez and going 2-turns too.
9 Regal Betty – Well bet in debut then didn’t do much running; John Sadler babies improve with experience.
Long Shot – 8 Pogonip
Race 4 – 1 mile, $85,000 Adoration, Fillies and mares, 3-year-olds and up
8 St. Trinians – Dull run in last and shows declining Beyer pattern; last year’s edition would crush these.
5 Jet Blue Girl – In dead stroke now off two sharp wins; a class test but she should be up to it.
Long Shot – 7 Ellafitz
Race 5 – 1 mile (turf), Purse $48,000, Claiming $40,000, 3-year-olds
4 Memen – Big barn switch to Mike Mitchell; he adds blinkers on, a 31 percent win angle for Mitchell.
9 Doc Can Dance – Parking lot post can be a negative at one mile; his turf resume is good enough to win.
Long Shot – 7 Cat in the Forest
Race 6 – 5 1/2 furlongs, Purse $63,000, Maiden special weights, 2-year-olds
5 Castaway – Showed good grit in debut grinding on for second; with his pedigree, he’ll improve with more distance.
8 Norm’s Passion – Logical chalk in a highly rated debut; was favored in debut so was no secret among the clockers.
Long Shot – 4 Clearly a Cowboy
Race 7 – 6 furlongs, Purse $37,000, Starter allowance $40,000, 3-year-olds and up
5 Private Bounty – Has run second three times since claimed by Doug O’Neill; clearly fast enough to finally win one.
4 Mandated Bliss – Finished well in last and figures to improve; one of the ones in a wide open heat.
Long Shot – 6 Gregor
Race 8 – 1 1/8th miles (turf), $250,000 Del Mar Derby, 3-year-olds
7 Banned – East coast shippers have fared well in Del Mar stakes; been facing good ones in graded stakes.
9 Burns – Gutsy win in La Jolla over a soft group; Mr. Commons would have been 3/5 to win in the La Jolla.
Long Shot – 5 Cloud Man
Race 9 – 6 furlongs, Purse $24,000, Maiden claiming $20,000, Fillies and mares, 3-year-olds and up
7 Nana Beach – Long in the tooth wih 22 starts; still her speed figures suggest she has a big shot in here.
4 Jade and Diamonds – Well bet in debut, she had a horrible trip from start to finish; things can only get better.
Long Shot – 5 Sweet Pleasure
Race 10 – 6 1/2 furlongs, Purse $24,000, Claiming $16,000, Fillies and mares, 3-year-olds and up
14 My Little Morgan – Steve Miyadi runners have done well despite running for other trainers; parking lot post.
11 The Great Atlantic – Tepid chalk in another difficult race on the card; closed well in last for a secondary paycheck.
