EVENTS

The Stillpoint Center for Spiritual Development, 8079 W. Sahara Ave., will present a discussion with Gard Jameson on the book “The Universe Story” at 9 a.m. and 7 p.m. Wednesday. Jameson is a philosophy instructor at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, and director of Contemplative Outreach of Southern Nevada. The suggested donation is $20 (243-4040).

The Word Alive Church Inc., 2412 Tam Drive, will serve meals to children free of charge as part of the Summer Food Service Program. Meals will be served through Aug. 27 on the following days and times: breakfast, 9-10 a.m. Sunday, Tuesday and Wednesday; lunch, noon-1 p.m. Sunday and Tuesday; and supper, 5-6 p.m. Wednesday and Saturdays (684-5866).

The Las Vegas Lay Dominicans will have their monthly meeting featuring prayer, formation activities and a Communion service, 10 a.m.-noon Aug. 27 at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Newman Community, 4765 Brussels St.
