LAS VEGAS RESTAURANT WEEK TO KICK OFF MONDAY
Las Vegas Restaurant Week is scheduled to raise funds for Three Square food bank at restaurants across the valley beginning Monday and running through Sept. 11.
Participating restaurants will offer unique, multi-course menus for $20.11, $30.11 or $50.11. A portion of each will go to Three Square to help fight hunger in Southern Nevada.
More than 80 restaurants are scheduled to participate, including Todd’s Unique Dining, Twin Creeks Steakhouse at the Silverton, DW Bistro, Petra, Roy’s Hawaiian Fusion Cuisine, Bar+Bistro at The Arts Factory, Casa di Amore, Del Frisco’s Double Eagle Steakhouse, ENVY The Steakhouse, McCormick & Schmick’s, Panevino Ristorante, and Piero’s Italian Cuisine & New England Fish Market.

SEBASTIANI WINE DINNER SET AT FLEMING’S
A four-course wine dinner featuring estate-bottled wines from Sebastiani Vineyards & Winery is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. Friday at Fleming’s Prime Steakhouse & Wine Bar, 8721 W. Charleston Blvd.
Winemaker Mark Lyon plans to be on hand as an expert tasting guide. The reception course will feature tangerine-glazed pork belly, with Sebastiani Chardonnay Sonoma County 2009, followed by a first course of grilled peach salad with Sebastiani Pinot Noir Sonoma Coast 2008. The main course will be braised short ribs with grilled potato salad and grilled asparagus, served with Sebastiani Cabernet Sauvignon Alexander Valley 2008. The dessert course will be amaretto chocolate fondue with sour cream pound cake and fresh fruit, served with Sebastiani Zinfandel Dry Creek Valley 2008.

MARIE CALLENDER’S ADDS MENU OPTIONS
Marie Callender’s has added Pie & Pasta Combos to its menu. Guests can pair their favorite pasta entree (baked rigatoni, chicken pesto Alfredo, vegetable ravioli, shrimp angel hair pasta) with a Caesar salad and a slice of pie for $10.99.
Purchase an adult entree Tuesdays and Saturdays and receive a free kid’s meal.

WINE WALKS TO RAISE FUNDS FOR NEW VISTA COMMUNITY
The Village Lake Las Vegas plans to host a wine walk from 7 to 10 p.m. Sept. 3 to benefit New Vista Community, a nonprofit group that provides equal opportunities and support for intellectually challenged people of all ages.
Another wine walk to benefit New Vista Community is scheduled from 7 to 10 p.m. Sept. 24 at Town Square Las Vegas, 6605 Las Vegas Blvd. South.
Wine walk tickets are $25 per person in advance. Tickets at the door will cost $30 for one or $50 for two.

GRIMALDI’S INTRODUCES SEASONAL CHEESECAKE SELECTIONS
Grimaldi’s Coal Brick-Oven Pizzeria has added seasonal cheesecake selections to its menu.
Chocolate cheesecake and caramel and green apple cheesecake are made daily in-house and are $5.

PT’s and Sierra Gold locations plan to offer food and drink specials this month.

ENGLISH’S OPENS PUB AT TOWN SQUARE
English’s, a new gastropub, was scheduled to open at Town Square Las Vegas, 6605 Las Vegas Blvd. South, on the second level Aug. 12.
Lunch and dinner will be served, along with daily brunch and high teas. Menu selections include Bangers and Mash (sausage and potatoes), fish and chips, Toad in the Hole (sausages in Yorkshire pudding batter), steak pies, fresh fish, seafood, sandwiches, pastas and steaks.
High tea, offered from 2 to 5 p.m. for $18, will feature scones with heavy cream and strawberry jam, petite fours, and salmon and cucumber sandwiches.
Happy hour will be from 2:30 to 5:30 p.m. with daily specials.
Brunch and Sunday Roasts also are planned, brunch to be served daily from 9 a.m. to noon and include eggs, bacon, sausage, mushroom toast and beans, and the Scotch Breakfast, featuring a bagel with cream cheese, smoked salmon and capers. The oyster-eating contest will be hosted by X107.5 FM’s Dave & Mahoney and will raise funds for Three Square food bank. Las Vegas Locomotives cheerleaders are also expected to be on hand.
The event will challenge Las Vegas’ top chefs to compete to see who can shuck and swallow the most oysters in 8 minutes. A pre-party is scheduled to begin at 3 p.m., with the contest set for 4 p.m. An after party with themed appetizers is planned, and guests are encouraged to make donations to Three Square and take advantage of drink specials, with proceeds to benefit the food bank.

‘LES’ WINES & VINES’ RADIO SHOW TO CELEBRATE 10TH ANNIVERSARY
The "Les’ Wines & Vines" radio show, hosted by Les Kincaid, is celebrating its 10th anniversary on Sept. 8.
