Smith Center for the Performing Arts ticket sales slated to start today

The Smith Center for the Performing Arts, 361 Symphony Park Ave., is scheduled to begin selling season tickets for its Broadway Las Vegas series today. Season tickets for the four-show series range from $99 to $309.

Shows include "The Color Purple," Disney & Cameron Mackintosh’s "Mary Poppins," "Million Dollar Quartet," and "Memphis." More details, including seating renderings of Reynolds Hall, where the shows will take place, will be posted online at thesmithcenter.com.

‘Dirty Rotten Scoundrels’ now playing at Las Vegas Little Theatre

The USA and World Hip Hop Dance Championships are set to return to Las Vegas for their 10 -year anniversary. The World Hip Hop Dance Championship preliminaries and semifinals are Wednesday through Friday at Red Rock Resort, 11011 W. Charleston Blvd.

Those events lead up to the World Hip Hop Dance Championship Finals Sunday at The Orleans Arena, 4500 W. Tropicana Ave.

Rain nightclub at the Palms to host cancer fundraiser

A coalition of five cancer-fighting organizations and five local celebrities will battle it out on the dance floor from 2 to 5 p.m. Aug. 14 at Rain nightclub at the Palms, 4321 W. Flamingo Road.

The second annual "Dancing with the Las Vegas Stars" fundraiser is based on the hit ABC television show "Dancing with the Stars." Each charity will have a star competing on its behalf in a ballroom dance competition. Tickets are $50 per person and include a glass of wine.

Audience members and the public may show their support by voting for their favorite charity/dancer. Votes are a $2 donation and are unlimited and may be purchased at the event or at dancingwiththelasvegasstars.com.

Dierks Bentley to headline Coyote Country Fest at The Orleans Arena

Coyote Country Fest returns to The Orleans Arena, 4500 W. Tropicana Ave., with country music stars Dierks Bentley, Craig Campbell and Randy Houser performing at 7:30 p.m. Aug. 19.

Carousel at The District to offer free rides during summer

The District at Green Valley Ranch, 2240 Village Walk Drive, announced that it is planning to give free rides on its carousel.

Normally, a ride costs $2 per guest.

The carousel features 32 animals and two chariot carts.

Summer hours are 3 to 8 p.m. Monday through Thursday, 3 to 10 p.m. Friday and Saturday and 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Sunday.

The District announces July music and movie lineup

The District at Green Valley Ranch, 2240 Village Walk Drive, is planning to host the Outdoor Picture Show, free movies at 8 p.m. Friday and Saturday, and Music on Main, free music from 6 to 9 p.m. Friday and Saturday.

The movies scheduled to be played are "Furry Vengance" on Friday and "Justin Beiber: Never Say Never" on Saturday.

The bands scheduled to perform are Step Up on Friday and Lit Up Productions on Saturday.

Al’s Garage to screen midnight movies at The District

Clark County Museum exhibit covers evolution of office technology

Through Oct. 23, an exhibit called "From Carbon Paper to .pdf" is slated to be at the Clark County Museum, 1830 S. Boulder Highway.

The exhibit showcases 100 years of office evolution and how technology has changed from a quill pen and ink to computers.

Performers from local shows to raise money for flood victims

To raise funds for the Salvation Army and its continued disaster relief efforts, the free "Vintage Vegas Variety Show" starring many entertainers from Las Vegas shows is planned for noon Sunday in the Fame Showroom of the Clarion Hotel and Casino, 305 Convention Center Drive.

Donations will be accepted for the Price Relief Fund for Mississippi flood victims.

Performers from "The Rat Pack is Back," illusionist Jan Rouven, pianist Joey Singer and entertainers Linda Bulgo, Rebecca Holden, Kevin Sasaki, Tony Sacca and Jimmy Osmond are slated to take the stage during the fundraiser.

Classic Shakespeare works are planned to be shown in movie theaters this summer.

Each performance will begin at 6:30 p.m. at Village Square 18, 9400 W. Sahara Ave.

"Henry IV Part 1" is scheduled for Aug. 1, "Henry IV Part 2" for Aug. 18 and "Henry VIII" for Sept. 15.

Each includes a 20-minute historical perspective on the Globe Theatre and its reconstruction.
