PT’s announces July promotions

PT’s Pub, PT’s Gold and Sierra Gold taverns plan several promotions for July.

A half-off breakfast will be served from 6 to 10 a.m. daily at all PT’s and Sierra Gold taverns, with 50 percent off all breakfast menu entrees for Beer & Bites Club members.

The Beer & Bites Club allows guests to qualify for half-off happy hour specials and earn points toward food and beverage rewards and receive members-only offers. Guests can join by purchasing their Beer & Bites card for $5 and PT’s and Sierra Gold will reward them with $5 on their next visit.

Half-off happy hour is planned from 4 to 7 p.m. daily and midnight to 3 a.m. at all PT’s and Sierra Gold taverns, with 50 percent off all drinks and pizzas for all Beer & Bites Club members.

The Miller High Life Veteran’s Program offers a 10-cent donation to returning American veterans for every purchase of a featured Miller High Life beverage.

Drink specials at PT’s and Sierra Gold for July are Miller Lite, Miller High Life, Belvedere vodka and Belvedere vodka’s Pink Grapefruit “Pink Secret” cocktail.

Food specials at PT’s are golden nuggets, brioche burger, chicken Parmesan sandwich, salmon taco salad, filet kabobs and PBJ Zookie. Specials are available 24 hours a day and start at $5.99.

MarchÉ Bacchus to mark
Bastille Day Thursday

Marché Bacchus, 2620 Regatta Drive, No. 106, in Desert Shores, plans to celebrate Bastille Day with a special lakeside performance by the Las Vegas Skydiving Team at 7 p.m. Thursday.

Bastille Day is a French national holiday commemorating the beginning of the French Revolution. A team of five expert skydivers plans to plunge into Lake Jacqueline, which is adjacent to the restaurant’s back patio, while red, white and blue smoke streamers cascade in the air, honoring France’s tricolor national flag.

A special menu prepared by chef Joseph Swan is planned.

at McFadden’s in the rio

McFadden’s Restaurant and Saloon inside the Rio, 3700 Las Vegas Blvd. South, plans to host a special July birthday party Saturday, offering birthday drinks from 10 p.m. to midnight to anyone born in July.

Gordon Biersch serving SommerBrau beer and seasonal menu through July

Gordon Biersch is serving a Caribbean-inspired menu through July 31 that is designed to complement the SommerBrau beer.

SommerBrau is a Kolsch-style beer originating from Cologne, Germany.

Starters on the new menu include coconut shrimp, shrimp and lobster rolls and jerk chicken sliders. Entrees include lobster, crab and shrimp salad, blackened mahi mahi, blackened chicken linguini, the Jamaican Kobe burger, churrasco steak and jerk chicken tacos. Desserts include the Montego Bay banana split.

Also featured in the promotion is the Watermelon Splash cocktail, a blend of Barcardi Superior Rum and O3 Orange Liqueur. Non-alcoholic watermelon lemonade also is available.

Brio Tuscan Grille expands cocktails, offers tuscan tasters menu

Brio Tuscan Grille at Tivoli Village at Queensridge, 420 S. Rampart Blvd., Suite 180, and Town Square Las Vegas, 6653 Las Vegas Blvd. South, recently debuted a new cocktail menu offering seasonal cocktails, signature and traditional drinks, wine by the glass, imported, craft and domestic beer and non-alcoholic beverages.

The 12 signature drinks range from $7 to $10 a glass and include Strawberry Basil Limonata, Raspberry Mojito, Baca Limon Martini, Il Tramonto Limoncello and Pineapple Gimlet Martini.

The restaurant also has a $2.95 Tuscan Tasters menu, available from 3:30 to
6:30 p.m. Monday through Friday and 9 p.m. to close Monday through Thursday in the bar. It offers portions of 10 appetizer classics such as shrimptini, pepper formaggio dip and spicy shrimp and eggplant.

to teach classes

Wine radio show host Les Kincaid plans to instruct a series of food and wine classes from 6 to 8:30 p.m. on specific days in July.

Organic Wines is scheduled for July 20 at Total Wine & More, 730 S. Rampart Blvd. in Boca Park. Explore organic wine terms such as biodynamic and sustainable, the agricultural practices behind the terms and look at techniques for vinification and how it translates into what you taste in the glass. The cost is $45 per person.

Finally, Pizzas is scheduled for July 26 at Ferguson Bath & Kitchen Gallery, 4175 S. Grand Canyon Drive, No. 109. Learn foolproof techniques for making pizza at home. The cost is $45 per person.

Brio Tuscan Grille to mark
National Lasagna Day

Brio Tuscan Grille at Tivoli Village at Queensridge, 420 S. Rampart Blvd., Suite 180, and Town Square Las Vegas, 6653 Las Vegas Blvd. South, plans to celebrate National Lasagna Day by offering its signature lasagna entree for half price on July 28.

El Cortez serving vintage menus

The El Cortez, 600 Fremont St., is offering vintage dining and cocktail menus in honor of its 70th anniversary.

The cocktail menu will celebrate the history of mixology and educate guests on the origins of classic cocktails. It includes the side car, created in the 1920s; the mint julep, created in the 1700s and one of the country’s oldest cocktails; the blood and sand, a drink from the 1930 premiere of a Rudolph Valentino film; and the aviation, a drink created in 1910 by the head bartender at the Hotel Wallick in New York.

The vintage dining menu features appetizers of oysters Rockefeller and escargot a la bourguignon; hearts of palm salad and asparagus salad; entrees of Tournedos of beef Rossini and chicken Kiev; and desserts of strawberries Romanoff and peach Melba.

for soft-shell crab season

King’s Fish House at the District at Green Valley Ranch, 2255 Village Walk Drive, Suite 139, is serving soft-shell crab-inspired menu items in honor of soft-shell crab season.

Dishes available for lunch and dinner include Southern fried soft-shell crab with remoulade, coleslaw and french fries; soft-shell crab piccata style with lemon butter, capers and choice of two sidekicks; and soft-shell crab tempura style with ponzu, steamed rice and Northwest vegetables. Single crabs without sidekicks are available in any of those preparations. The menu also has Maryland soft-shell crab sandwich, served with choice of toppings, french fries and coleslaw.

Bernard’s Bistro featuring R.M.S. Titanic dinner event Thursdays

Bernard’s Bistro, 15 Via Bel Canto in MonteLago Village at Lake Las Vegas, offers an evening of first-class dining with a R.M.S. Titanic dinner event at 7 p.m. Thursdays throughout the summer.

The multi-sensory production will spotlight the culinary mastery of French chef E. Bernard accompanied with sights, sounds, images and replicas of an era defined by elegance, fashion and fine food.

The menu will include items such as consummé olga, Titanic signature dish pear and Belgian endive watercress and Roquefort cheese in herb honey mustard dressing, champagne sorbet, poached salmon with mousseline caviar sauce topped with chives hollandaise and English cucumbers with asparagus and pommes vapeur.

Other main courses include braised filet mignon, lili with foie gras and lamb loin and rack of lamb with mint sauce.

Mon Ami Gabi plans July dining events

Mon Ami Gabi at Paris Las Vegas, 3655 Las Vegas Blvd. South, plans to celebrate Bastille Day with a celebration Thursday through July 20.

Bastille Day is a French national holiday commemorating the beginning of the French Revolution.

A Bastille Day-inspired menu will be available, featuring soup du jour of chilled creme du berry, summer duck confit and grilled peach salad. Other items include oysters du jour, pan-seared Arctic char and sweet corn chowder, mache salad and herb-roasted tomato and Brie sandwich with grilled onion relish.

On Saturday, the bistro is scheduled to offer a French cooking class from 10 a.m. to noon. Chef Terry Lynch plans to prepare a three-course dinner featuring ahi tuna tartare with avocado and grilled chicken paillard with summer salad and warm lemon vinaigrette. Dessert will be vanilla pound cake with farmers market berries and crème chantilly.

Roy’s Wine Club to meet

Roy’s Hawaiian Fusion Cuisine, 620 E. Flamingo Road, plans to host a waina hui (wine club) tasting from 5 to 6:30 p.m. the third Friday of the month. The next one is set for Friday.

Purchase tickets now for Yearlong beer festival coming in October

The Las Vegas World Beer Fest is scheduled to be open every Thursday through Sunday for one year beginning Oct. 13.

The international Oktoberfest-style showcase of micro brews, stouts, ales and more is set to take place from noon to 11 p.m. at the southwest corner of Flamingo Road and Koval Lane behind Bally’s.

The event also is set to feature live performances from Las Vegas-based and international bands, an above-ground swimming pool to keep patrons cool, an above-ground spa, fresh food and celebrities from the United States behind some of the taps.

The entrance fee will be $10, and only 5,000 tickets will be available per day. Package deals including food and beer tastings also are available.

Summer Freeze Shaved Ice sets up shop for summer

Summer Freeze Shaved Ice is open for the summer at 552 N. Stephanie St. in the Galleria Commons.

Hours are noon to 8 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday and noon to 6 p.m. Sunday. The menu offers 20 syrup flavors for shaved ice, including three that are sugar-free. Flavors include blueberry, coconut, cotton candy, an “ice cream” flavor, root beer and tiger’s blood. A sour spray also is available. The shaved ice is provided by Sierra Ice of Henderson.
