LES KINCAID PLANS BEVERAGE, PASTA CLASSES THIS MONTH
Les Kincaid, host of the nationally syndicated radio show "Les’ Wines & Vines" plans to host the World of Teas class Wednesday and Oct. 12.
The Wednesday portion of the class will be at the Ferguson Kitchen & Bath Gallery, 4175 S. Grand Canyon Drive, No. 109, from 6 to 8:30 p.m. The Oct. 12 portion will be at 2:30 p.m. in a reserved area of the Mandarin Oriental Tea Lounge at Mandarin Oriental at CityCenter, 3752 Las Vegas Blvd. South.
Discover the difference in teas, both in bags and loose, and their history. The second week will feature a proper, first-class tea.
The cost is $99 per person (cash or check only), which includes tea at Mandarin Oriental.
The class Pastas & More is planned from 6 to 8:30 p.m. Oct. 19 and 26 at Ferguson. The cost is $89 per person (cash or check only).

CARRABBA’S PLANS WINE DINNER
Carrabba’s Italian Grill, 8771 W. Charleston Blvd., plans to present Great Sauces of Carrabba’s, a wine dinner with The Hogue Cellars, at 6:30 p.m. Oct. 11.
The menu is set to feature crab cakes with roasted red pepper sauce, paired with The Hogue Cellars 2009 Riesling-Columbia Valley; Italian salad with homemade vinaigrette dressing, paired with The Hogue Cellars 2007 Pinot Grigio-Columbia Valley; four-cheese ravioli with classic bolognese meat sauce, paired with The Hogue Cellars 2008 Merlot-Columbia Valley; veal Marsala with roasted garlic mashed potatoes and fresh vegetables, paired with The Hogue Cellars 2008 Genesis Syrah-Columbia Valley; and warmed apple crostada with Blue Bell vanilla ice cream, paired with The Hogue Cellars 2010 Late Harvest Riesling-Columbia Valley.

ONE DRUNK PUPPY EVENT TO SUPPORT NEVADA SPCA
An event called One Drunk Puppy is set from 6 to 10 p.m. Oct. 15 at the Silverton, 3333 Blue Diamond Road, in support of the Nevada Society of the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals.
The wine-tasting event will benefit the no-kill animal shelter.
Attendees can enjoy complimentary appetizers, entertainment, 50 world-class wineries, sakes, a wine label contest, a grape-stomping contest and a silent auction.

Tropical Smoothie Café is offering its Beachside BBQ menu through Oct. 16.
Barbecue selections, featuring Tropical Smoothie Café’s zesty Hawaiian Luau BBQ sauce, are Beachside BBQ Sandwich with turkey, provolone, bacon, romaine and tomato on toasted ciabatta; Beachside BBQ Wrap with chicken, mozzarella, pineapple and red onions wrapped in a white tortilla; and Beachside BBQ Flatbread with chicken, cheddar, red onions and pickles on grilled flatbread.

GORDON BIERSCH SERVING OKTOBERFEST MENU FOR LIMITED TIME
Gordon Biersch Brewery Restaurant has introduced a new limited time menu featuring food inspired by Germany’s Oktoberfest Festival, along with FestBier beer.
The pairings are available through Oct. 23.
Gordon Biersch also recently introduced 10 new Lighter Side menu entrees under 575 calories, including Creole chicken, Mediterranean chicken, Moroccan salmon or chicken, spicy shrimp stir fry, ahi salad, grilled chicken cashew salad, spinach salad, margarita steak and BBQ chicken flatbread.
In addition to lighter offerings, a veggie burger and lobster burger also were added to the menu.

SIGNATURE CHEFS OF LAS VEGAS TO GATHER AT GOLDEN NUGGET
The March of Dimes’ 14th annual Signature Chefs of Las Vegas, a gathering of top Southern Nevada chefs, is scheduled for Saturday at the Golden Nugget, 129 Fremont St.

GOLDEN NUGGET PLANS SECOND ANNUAL FALL BEER FESTIVAL
The Golden Nugget, 129 Fremont St., is scheduled to host its second annual Fall Beer Festival Oct. 14 and 15.
The event is set to kick off with the All American Craft Beer Tasting, sponsored by Samuel Adams, from 7 to 10 p.m. Oct. 14 in The Grand events center. Guests can sample more than 120 craft beers and enjoy chef-inspired appetizers while listening to live music. A highlight will be the traditional tapping of the kegs, and each guest will receive a commemorative glass as a souvenir. Tickets are $50.
The second day will feature an Oktoberfest Pool Party, sponsored by Paulaner Beer from Munich, from 3 to 9 p.m. at The Tank. Admission is free, and 200 international and domestic beers will be available for purchase. A German Oktoberfest band is scheduled to play.
