DIANA IVEY
GREEN VALLEY HIGH School

■ What college do you plan on attending and for what major?

I plan to attend the University of Nevada, Reno and major in biochemistry. Science has always been a passion of mine. If I can use it to help other people, it will be even better.

■ What extracurricular activities do you participate in?

N/A

■ What do you do for fun?

I love spending time with my friends and laughing about all the crazy things we do.

■ In detail, how did you prepare for the PSAT?

I was offered a chance to take a test preparation seminar. It seems to have been worth it.

■ Why are grades so important to you?

Mostly it’s because I know good grades make my parents proud. However, it is not the grade that matters. It is whether or not you actually understand the material.

■ What’s your favorite movie and book?

My favorite movie is “The Phantom of the Opera” and my favorite book is “Island of the Blue Dolphins” by Scott O’Dell.

■ What’s a guilty pleasure of yours — such as a TV show, movie or hobby — and why are you ashamed of liking it?

I often spend time singing. This is an issue because I know I should be doing my homework. Also, it isn’t fair to the ears of other people.
