We need a better energy policy
February 20, 2012 - 6:25 am
As anyone who drives a car can attest, America needs a better energy policy — one that really makes us less dependent upon foreign oil.
And the best way to get there is by doubling down on coal, oil, natural gas and nuclear power. Not solar, wind, corn, etc.
The news this morning that Saudi Arabia cut both its oil production and December exports speaks loudly as to the deficiency of our current policy. And while politicians — Democrats and Republicans — rub their legs together like crickets in protest of higher gasoline prices, they fail to do the kinds of things that make us more self sufficient.
The current crop of say-everything-do-nothing politicians (Sen. Harry Reid, President Obama, etc.) remain the poster children of the day in this regard.
