99 Words About … Why MTV’s ‘Pants’ deserves a break

It’s fresh, clever and offers welcome respite from the barrage of teen moms and those orange-skinned petri dishes from Jersey.

“I Just Want My Pants Back” (11 p.m. Thursdays, MTV) is the television equivalent of that indie band you discovered before your friends — rough edges and all.

The comedy, about a Brooklyn 20-something searching for the one-night stand who walked off with his heart (and his trousers), pushes some boundaries. So, naturally, the fun police at the Parents Television Council want it canceled.

But whatever has MTV thinking scripted instead of Snooki doesn’t deserve scorn.

It deserves a parade.
