Man critically injured after hit by car

A 54-year-old man was in critical condition after being struck while crossing Sahara Avenue early Wednesday morning.

Alexander Alexanedre was crossing the street east of South Maryland Parkway about 5:28 a.m. when he was struck by a 2011 Toyota Corolla, according to Las Vegas police. He was not in the crosswalk, police said.

Alexanedre was taken to Sunrise Hospital and Medical Center with life-threatening injuries.

The driver, Yusnier Ferrales-Oliva, 29, wasn’t injured, police said.
