IHOP TO SERVE FREE FLAPJACKS TODAY

IHOP restaurants plan to offer each guest a free short stack of buttermilk pancakes today in honor of National Pancake Day and to raise awareness and funds for Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals.

The free pancakes will be served from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. For every short stack that is served, IHOP guests are invited to make a voluntary donation to Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals. Donations made at IHOP restaurants in the Las Vegas Valley will benefit the Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals’ program at St. Rose Dominican Hospitals.

ELEMENTS PLANS WEEKLY SPECIALS

Elements Kitchen & Martini Bar, 4950 S. Rainbow Blvd., is offering specials through Saturday.

Today’s special is pork shank for $26, served with potatoes, veggies and house salad. Wednesday’s special is chicken schnitzel for $22, served with potatoes, veggies and Caesar salad. Wednesday also is ladies night, with two-for-one glasses of wine and $10 off bottles of wine. FLEMING’S PLANS 10TH ANNIVERSARY DINNER

Fleming’s Prime Steakhouse & Wine Bar, 8721 W. Charleston Blvd., plans to host its 10th anniversary dinner at 6:30 p.m. Saturday, featuring ultra-premium wines by Dimitri Tchelistcheff, winemaker for Jarvis Estate Winery and son of legendary winemaker André Tchelistcheff.

A four-course menu is planned. The cost is $95 per guest, including wine pairings. For reservations, call 838-4774.

The first course will be shrimp and lobster ceviche tacos, paired with Jarvis Estate Chardonnay Napa Valley 2007. The second course will be dark cherry and seared duck salad, paired with Jarvis Estate Merlot Napa Valley 2007. The third course will be filet with Morel thyme cream sauce, sautéed brussels sprouts with pork belly bits and Fleming’s potatoes, paired with Jarvis Estate Lake William Blend Napa Valley 2007 and Jarvis Estate Carbernet Sauvignon Napa Valley 2005. THREE SQUARE FOOD BANK TO BENEFIT FROM RESTAURANT WEEK

Restaurant Week is returning earlier than usual this year, as Three Square food bank has added a spring edition of the culinary event.

Restaurant Week is scheduled through Sunday at participating restaurants across the Las Vegas Valley, which will offer prix fixe menus for $20.12, $30.12 or $50.12 to benefit Three Square in fighting hunger in Southern Nevada.

Restaurants that are newcomers to this year’s Restaurant Week lineup include A Cut Above Steakhouse, Due Forni, Beso Steakhouse, Beach Café, Grape Street, Lawry’s Prime Rib, Nove Italiano, The Martini and Via Brasil Steakhouse.

MARIE CALLENDER’S PIE SALE TO END WEDNESDAY

Marie Callender’s is offering a pie to go sale through Wednesday, with more than 30 varieties available for $7.99, including the tin.

VEGAS UNCORK’ED TO UNCORK 300 WINE BOTTLES

Vegas Uncork’d by Bon Appétit plans to attempt to break the Guinness World Record for most bottles of wine simultaneously uncorked at Sensi in the Bellagio, 3600 Las Vegas Blvd. South, at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday.

Prior to the attempt, event programming and ticket sales for the sixth annual Vegas Uncork’d will be announced. Once the bottles have been uncorked, guests throughout the Bellagio will be invited to enjoy a glass of wine.

ARTFULLY SWEET FUNDRAISER TO BENEFIT SOUTHERN NEVADA CHILDREN FIRST

The third annual Artfully Sweet fundraiser to benefit Southern Nevada Children First is scheduled from noon to 3 p.m. March 24 at The Ridges, 11277 Marble Ridge Drive.

Artisan treats, live performances and a silent auction are planned. SNCF is a nonprofit organization that provides long-term transitional housing and life skills training to homeless pregnant and parenting teens and young adults ages 16 to 22.

LAGASSE’S STADIUM TO HOST SAMUEL ADAMS BEER PAIRING DINNER

Lagasse’s Stadium at the Palazzo, 3325 Las Vegas Blvd. South, plans to host a Samuel Adams Brew Master beer pairing dinner at 6 p.m. Friday.

The menu will feature stacked onion ring salad, paired with Irish Red; mini beef slider and truffle shoestring fries, paired with White Water IPA; herb-crusted blue crabmeat-stuffed portobello mushroom, paired with Alpine Spring; grilled swordfish on green onion rice with ham hock bean chili, paired with Mighty Oak Ale; and puff pastry box with vanilla bean mascarpone cheese and mixed berry compote, paired with Chocolate Cherry Bock.

POSTRIO AT THE VENETIAN ANNOUNCES WEEKEND BRUNCH MENU

Wolfgang Puck’s Postrio Bar & Grill at The Grand Canal Shoppes at The Venetian, 3355 Las Vegas Blvd. South, is offering a weekend brunch menu from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturdays and Sundays.

The menu features warm brioche donuts with housemade strawberry jam and vanilla sugar; scrambled egg pizza with shaved Yukon Gold potatoes and bacon lardons; breakfast sandwich on toasted ciabatta bread with prosciutto and wild arugula; crisp corned beef and hash with two fried organic eggs and sourdough toast; buttermilk pancakes with candied pecans and maple butter; French-style omelet with wild mushrooms, Gruyere and Tuscan potatoes; grilled prime flat iron steak with two eggs over easy and creamed spinach; and house-cured smoked salmon on a toasted bagel with red onion, cucumber and cream cheese.

BORDER GRILL PLANS DEMONSTRATION-STYLE COOKING CLASS

Border Grill at Mandalay Bay, 3950 Las Vegas Blvd. South, plans to host a demonstration-style cooking class with executive chef Mike Minor from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday.

The class is set to feature a preview of some of Minor’s favorite new dishes on the Border brunch menu. Guests also will receive a multi-course lunch at Border Grill, signature cocktails and a recipe booklet.

The menu will feature michelada (Mexican cerveza), Peruvian shrimp and grits, Yucatan eggs Benedict, short rib hash and egg, and churro tots.

The Mussels, Frites and Craft Beer menu is back at Morels French Steakhouse & Bistro at The Palazzo, 3325 Las Vegas Blvd. South.

The menu features Moules A La Crème (steamed with tarragon, garlic and crème fraiche), Moules Boston (chowder-style corn, Nueske bacon and cream sauce) and Moules Provencals (steamed in salsa verde broth with fresh herbs and Pistou), paired with beer selections of Dogfish Head 60 Minute IPA, Delaware; Full Sail IPA, Oregon; Firestone Union Jack, California; North Coast Pranqster, California; and Sierra Nevada Kellerweis Hefeweizen, California.

DRAGON NOODLE CO. BRINGS BACK BEER DINNER MENU

Dragon Noodle Co. & Sushi Bar inside the Monte Carlo, 3770 Las Vegas Blvd. South, plans to bring back its Beer Dinner menu in March.

The menu offers three courses paired with three beers for $28 per person. It features a spicy tuna roll, paired with Sapporo from Japan; family-style appetizer of salt and pepper calamari and vegetable spring roll, paired with Sierra Nevada Brewing Co. Pale Ale; and an entree served family style (one choice per guest) of sweet and sour chicken, Kung Pao chicken, beef with snow peas or vegetable chow mein, paired with Pyramid Haywire Hefeweizen.

Roy’s Hawaiian Fusion Cuisine, 620 E. Flamingo Road, plans to host a waina hui (wine club) tasting from 5 to 6:30 p.m. March 16.
