April 26, 2012 - 7:41 am
The Hooters Casino Hotel will host a car wash in its front parking lot from noon to 4 p.m. on Friday with the proceeds benefiting UNLV Basketball Coach Dave Rice’s foundation.
Hooters Casino Hotel located at 115 East Tropicana Ave. As an added incentive, the Hooters Calendar Girls will also be at the car wash.
All official taxicabs (both cars and vans) are free while private cars are being asked for a $5 donation. Also, Hooters will sell chicken wings — five for $5 — with $2 from each sale being donated to the foundation.
The Dave Rice Foundation is a nonprofit organization dedicated to the education and support of health initiatives, including developmental disorders such as autism, and other charitable causes. UNLV Basketball Coach Dave Rice and his wife, Mindy, established the foundation earlier this year. For more information on the Dave Rice Foundation, visit www.davericefoundation.org.
“We appreciate all of Dave Rice’s hard work and remarkable success,” said Erich Smith, general manager for Hooters. “Dave is an amazing role model for all and we want to show support for his newly created foundation. Also, as an appreciation for the taxicab industry, we will be offering all taxis a free car wash. It’ll be a win-win day for all.”
