Married Army couple take ‘Amazing Race’

In the finale of the 20th season of CBS’s “The Amazing Race” on Sunday, married Army couple Rachel and Dave Brown had to arrive at the finish line twice – an “Amazing Race” first – but still took the $1 million prize.

After dating divorcées Vanessa Macias and Ralph Kelley were eliminated in the show’s first hour, Border Patrol agents Art Velez and JJ Carrell and former “Big Brother” contestants Brendon Villegas and Rachel Reilly competed against the Browns in the final leg of the race, which ended in Honolulu.

The Browns arrived at the finish line first amid applause from other eliminated teams. But they were turned away by show host Phil Keoghan because they failed to complete a task.

After going back to complete the task, the Browns made it back to the finish line ahead of the other teams to take the $1 million prize.

The Border Patrol agents, Art and JJ, finished second. The “Big Brother” couple, Brendon and Rachel, finished third.
