The Wanted headlining Summer Jam

The Electric Daisy Carnival turned out to be chilly bikini weather. And for a lot of us, a summer song just has to have words.

Fortunately, Sunday’s Summer Jam offers a second chance to suit up, as M Resort’s expansive pool area hosts a daylong pop festival co-sponsored by KLUC-FM, 98.5.

For young women (or their moms) left stranded in the wake of last weekend’s One Direction concert, the festival is fortuitously headlined by The Wanted, that other British-Irish boy band that’s eliciting enough of its own screams to rekindle the ‘N Sync/Backstreet Boys rivalry of the 1990s.

The bill is balanced with a more grown-up dose of pop in Karmin, that “Brokenhearted” duo that’s outgrown its “Saturday Night Live”-style origins of a loungey white couple covering ribald R&B hits.

HardNox, Chris Rene and DJ Hollywood round out the bill for the general admission show starting at noon.
