Las Vegas man killed in crash near Lake Mead identified

The man who died in a rollover crash near Lake Mead Sunday night was identified Tuesday as 61-year-old Douglas L. Bounsall by the Clark County coroner’s office.

Bounsall, from Las Vegas, died when the vehicle he was driving rolled over about 6 p.m. on Northshore Road at mile marker 23.

A passenger, who was not identified, was transported via helicopter to a hospital. The passenger’s condition was unknown Tuesday.

Witnesses reported that the vehicle was heading north when the driver tried to pass another vehicle in a no-passing zone, officials said. The vehicle rolled three times.
