UNLV women’s golf leads at New Mexico tourney

The UNLV women’s golf team led after the first two rounds of the Dick McGuire Invitational in Albuquerque, N.M. UNLV posted a 4-over 588 total Monday, two shots ahead of Ohio State.
Mayko Chwen Wang led the Rebels, shooting 5-under 68 in the first round en route to a 2-under 144 total, tied for fourth. Charlotte Brooks was one shot behind her teammate in seventh at 145.
Colorado’s Jennifer Coleman shot a pair of 70s to lead at 6-under 140.
The final round of the 17-team tournament is today.
■ MEN’S SOCCER – UNLV’s Nick Marshall was named Mountain Pacific Sports Federation men’s soccer player of the week. Marshall had two goals, including the game winner, in a 5-1 home victory over Canisius on Sunday. He also had an assist and drew a penalty kick, which Julian Portugal converted.
