UNLV men’s soccer falls to No. 18 St. Mary’s; UNLV women’s soccer loses to Kansas

The UNLV men’s soccer team lost to No. 18 St. Mary’s 2-1 at Moraga, Calif.

The Gaels put UNLV in a 2-0 hole with goals in the 27th minute and 63rd minute, from Ismail Adam and Trevor Newquist, respectively.

Joaquin Rivas answered for the Rebels (0-2) in the 69th minute, and UNLV finished with five shots on goal but couldn’t get the equalizer.

Goalie Joe Vitale had two saves for the Rebels, and Andre Rawls had four saves for St. Mary’s.

The UNLV women’s soccer team lost to Kansas 3-0 in Lawrence, Kan. Whitney Berry got the only goal the Jayhawks would need, scoring in the 33rd minute.

Kansas added goals in the 57th and 84th minutes. UNLV had nine shots, including four on goal, but Kansas’ Kat Liebetrau turned away all four. Kylie Wassell had six saves for the Rebels (1-2-1).
