First Look: Tarantino collaborates on kung-fu film

What: “The Man with the Iron Fists”

When: Opening Friday

Cast: Russell Crowe, Lucy Liu, RZA

Director: RZA

The story: When 19th century warriors and assassins descend on a Chinese village to battle for a fortune in gold, they’re joined by the local blacksmith (RZA), who’s been forced to create elaborate tools of destruction.

The buzz: This marks the first directing and screenwriting credit for the Wu-Tang Clan leader, but he’s in good hands with collaborator Quentin Tarantino, who “presents” this ode to kung-fu classics, and co-writer and Goretorium mastermind Eli Roth.
