MountainView Hospital announces $9.5 million expansion

MountainView Hospital has begun work on a $9.5 million expansion of its new patient tower. The new addition includes a 32-bed medical/surgery unit, which is scheduled to open in 2013, the hospital said in a statement Monday.

The expansion to the 16-year-old facility is in addition to the $68 million in ongoing development projects on the hospital’s campus. MountainView is located in northwest Las Vegas.

MountainView’s expansion includes a 42-bed emergency department, 60,000-square-foot patient tower, a renovated main lobby, helipad for emergency services and a 16-bed rehabilitation unit.

MountainView is a member of the Sunrise Health System, consisting of Sunrise Hospital, Sunrise Children’s Hospital, Southern Hills Hospital, and several surgery and diagnostic centers.
